The Golden Movement was created with a simple belief that movement should feel accessible, supportive, and meaningful at every stage of life.
What started as a passion for helping people feel stronger in their bodies has grown into something more: a space where movement becomes connection and community.
At The Golden Movement, we provide accessible, community-based movement experiences designed to support older adults in feeling stronger, more confident, and more connected.
Our focus goes beyond exercise. we create environments where people feel safe to move, supported in their bodies, and welcomed exactly as they are.
We believe movement is more than physical.
It’s about maintaining independence.
It’s about building confidence.
It’s about creating moments of connection that reduce isolation and bring people together.
Every class, every interaction, and every program is built with that in mind.
The Golden Movement was founded by Sarah Gilchrist, a Pilates instructor with a background in healthcare and a passion for helping people feel strong and supported
Her inspiration is deeply personal. Through her relationship with her own grandma, Sarah saw how important it is to stay active, connected, and supported as we age, not just physically, but emotionally and socially as well.
That experience shaped her belief that movement can be a powerful tool not only for strength, but for connection. It also sparked a passion for creating spaces where different generations can learn from one another, support one another, and feel a sense of belonging.
After working in nursing, Sarah saw firsthand both the importance of maintaining mobility and the gaps that exist in accessible, community-based movement.
The Golden Movement was created to help bridge that gap — and to build something that feels both supportive and deeply human.
